WILL INDIA FAVOR TAMIL OR LANKA..????
It is an issue which is rocking the
parliament and may lead to a stormy budget session. Tomorrow will be a crucial
day for the UPA-2 and how it will tackle and whom it will support when the US-sponsored
resolution is brought in UN assembly.
It has become an emotive issue for
Tamils and they are outraged on genocide done by the cruel Sri Lankan
government during their so called “war against terror”. It is really unfortunate
to see how a small boy had been killed in cold blood. Is it not the violation
of war ethics.?
The acts of the present government in the parliament and the PM’s
letter to leaders in Tamil Nadu clearly shows the government will likely abstain
or it will use its usual statement which it had used in the past that “it won’t
support any resolutions against a particular nation”. By stating so the
government is risking its face among the Tamils.
So just by supporting the resolution
the crimes done by the Sri Lankan government cannot be rubbed off. Will it bring
any good to the Tamil people still living? As a matter of fact it will lead to
life or death situation to the people left out. It would be unwise if we try to
restore justice for those died in genocide by leaving thousands of Tamils living
there in danger. I would diminish the livelihood of people living there.
India is a land-locked country. If
in case India supports the US sponsored resolution it paves way for Pakistan and
China to join hands with Sri Lanka which leaves national security in trouble. Once
the Indian government supports the resolution it will nullify chances of any
talks with Sri Lanka and it is impossible to restore the livelihood for the Tamils.
Considering it in other perspective,
people must know what are the things done
by the LTTE. It used poor Tamils
as human shield to protect their own
skin and it even lead to the killing of many Sri Lankans. If one says the Sri
Lankan govt’s actions are against humanity then how it can be named.?
India
at this stage must not get succumbed to western’s
autocratic thoughts and actions. As a main player in this issue it must
act in forefront and propose a resolution for the political settlement and try
to get representation for Tamils in the Sri Lankan parliament.

THE TN POWER CRISIS..!!!!
In may last year when the
elections are held, the main promise in the AIADMK’s poll manifesto was to
rectify the power crisis in Tamil Nadu, which is crippling the state for some
time.It is unfortunate to mention after 10 months of assuming office the government
had failed to plug-out the power crisis and it is increasing day by day leaving
many in worry and anger. It is a huge setback to the government run by
Ms.J.Jayalalithaa given her remarkable administrative skills. Given this
scenario the opposition parties have left no time and are striking a high
voltage campaign against the government which is still mulling to tide over the
crisis.
As an Engineer,it would be unwise it
I fail to educate my knowledgeable society which is at the receiving end. As
said by Mr.Rajeev Ranjan, Chairman of TANTRANSCO, power demand in the state is
increasing 8 to 10% every year. As a result, the power demand of the state
ranges from 11,500MW to 12,500MW and the government is now capable of supplying
only 8,000MW , leaving the power deficit to a staggering 3,000 to 4,000 MW.
Firstly,if we see this menace
through the political prism this govt is paying for the sins done by the last
regime under the erstwhile Chief Minister of TN M.Karunanidhi. To qualify my
previous accusation there was no long term plans considered to increase the
power generation in the state. During the last regime, steps were taken to
generate a mere 206MW of power against the power deficit of 4000MW.Apart from
this, the thermal power plants are running below efficiency is because of the
usage of low quality coal bought by the government.
The present government is purchasing
power from the other states, but due to the transmission line congestion we are
unable to utilise the quantum of power being purchased. At present, govt. is
buying 500MW of power from Gujarat, but it is utilising just 235MW due to shortage
of transmission corridor and purchase of 727MW from UP(Dadri power station ) was also curtailed.
This shows
the lack of attention by the central government which is responsible to
construct transmission lines to connect various regions in the country to bring
down the power congestion. In this case the state government is totally not in
a position to be blamed.
It
is worth mentioning here, as soon as the AIADMK swept the polls and assuming
office, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu made a visit to New Delhi, met Prime Minister
Dr.Manmohan Singh to allot 1000MW from centre’s share. Even her personal
request to the central government went in vain and just a month back central government
allotted just a meagre 100MW.
Construction and commissioning of
power plants cannot be done in a day, but a responsible govt should foresee the
needs of common people, commercial and socio economic growth.
(to
be contd.)

IS REVALUATION ANOTHER WAY TO GRAB MONEY...???????
(This is a follow up of my first blog)
Examinations are carried out to evaluate the knowledge a student achieved in a subject over a period of time. But, nowadays examination turned out to be a nightmare for the students’ community. It is not confined only to school students who face central evaluation in their 10th and 12th standards. It has become a usual affair for the college students, in particular to the students of ANNA UNIVERSITY.
In recent years, the number of students who are applying for revaluation had gone leaps and bounds. It is because of the insincere evaluation done by the evaluators and perhaps the lack of sincerity to monitor the evaluators by the controller of examination. In recent days most of the papers are evaluated by the staffs who haven’t handled the paper for years. It has its own pros and cons. To apply for revaluation a student has to pay Rs.400 per paper, Rs.700 to get a photocopy of evaluated paper and Rs.3000 to challenge a paper and it will be reimbursed if your score is incremented with a margin of about at least 15 marks. It is not only the case of money which should be accounted for, but the mental trauma each student undergoes.
There may be various reasons to this menace but the crux is the lack of proper and qualified evaluators. For instance, in engineering each student will have a general paper viz, total quality management, environmental science and engineering or any one other department paper in each semester. In most of the cases the evaluation of these papers are not done by the concerned staff who handled that paper. This often leads to improper correction which fetches arrear to most of the students.
To cite an example, a student from a college affiliated to ANNA UNIVERSITY had spent a whopping amount of Rs.19000 for revaluation since her first semester. Out of which she had challenged two papers and got good score at the end of it. An evaluator should think that all students cannot afford to pay this amount and they have no other go other than to sit and suffer. This hurts badly a final year student who is set to appear for campus at the end of it and who applies for higher studies in abroad. Because, most of the companies will come with no standing arrears as their main criteria. It is unfortunate if a bright student gets arrear due to improper correction by some evaluators which literally ruins the lives of students. So it is the need of the time education department to act heavily on this issue.

IS RAHUL STILL RELEVANT FOR PM POST....?????
As the people of Uttar Pradesh clearly chucking out the most corrupt government in its history under Ms.Mayawati and giving a clear mandate to Samajwadi Party(SP).Apart from BSP,the one party which needs serious introspection is congress. It is because it invested its YUVARAJ(Rahul) who led the command to do magic in UP.But,the old charisma of Nehru-Gandhi family didn't work in favour of Rahul.
Inspite of his frequent parachuting to UP,hue and cry over Bhatta-parsual fiasco, eating in dalit home,24*7 media attraction, getting a package for bundhelkhand region, somewhere because of the disconnect he failed terribly to prove his calibre.
This brings us to a serious question can Congress still stick to Rahul or it can think of giving the mantle to Priyanka given her charisma and crowd pulling capacity?. This is not one instance where he had gone wrong. In Tamil Nadu as well he revived Tamil nadu congress youth wing ,but it didn't yield them a single seat which was almost routed.
Being projected as a youth icon, prime ministerial candidate, future PM,he still remains unaccessible to most of their own partymen. The least the people of this country wanted to know from a leader is what they think of issues which is relavent in the present. It is quite evident he never spoke on crucial issues such as CWG scam,2G scam, lokpal etc.
To qualify my previous point on Rahul's inacceessibility, one can see the scion of SP Akilesh Yadav had done incredibly in this election and needless to say he turned out to be a real hero.It is mainly because Akilesh's infuence at the grass root level which is totally absent with Rahul.
So ,if Rahul still believes in him and want to prove himself,He must restrategise and speak often to media.

SHOCKER FROM ANNA UNIVERSITY..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a known fact and the people who studied and studying under Anna University affiliated colleges are well accustomed to the horrible correction done by ANNA UNIV.Unfortunately,I feel dis-pleasured to inform that Anna University evaluation had gone bad to worse.Recently released first semester results proves it again.
For instance,a student from an engineering college in the suburbs of Chennai, who is very bright and had been consistently securing good marks in "Fundamentals of computing" through out the semester was given "U" which means fail. This is one instance if one goes through a study it is a brazen fact. This shows how terrible their correction is.
As the students are striving to accustom to the college life, this has come a big shocker and left the student in complete trauma. Due to this many of the students attempted suicide,to cite an instance two girls from a self financing college teared their wrists with knife,a boy fell in the well in his neighborhood and in a strange case a mother chucked out her son out of his home for getting flunked in a subject.
For the benefit of the student community and their precious life evaluators must be duty conscious.
Failing in the very first semester because of the reasons which they are totally not responsible really pulls down the confidence level of the students.
It is high time Educationists,Students,Parents and especially college officials must take cognizance of this issue.
